Surgery Hours

Monday to Thursday 9.00am – 5.00pm*
Friday 9.00am – 3.00pm*

*These hours can vary due to Dr Low attending courses.

Appointments

Appointments for consultations at Dr Low's Rooms can usually be made within 2 weeks
of the desired consultation time. It is necessary that you bring you referral as well as
recent x-rays to your appointment..

After Hours

If you are experiencing severe pain, fever or any signs of infection such as abnormal redness, excessive bleeding or excessive discharge from the wound following an operation contact our office immediately on (07) 47214483. In EXTREME circumstances where the office is unavailable, Dr Low can be contacted on his EMERGENCY telephone on 0417 728 508..

Accident and Emergency

In extreme emergencies such as severe breathing difficulties or severe chest pain, phone 000. If time permits contact the surgery for additional assistance.

For other emergencies, phone the surgery for advice. If possible the patient should be brought to the surgery.

Availability of Doctor by Telephone

Dr Low may be contacted by phone during normal surgery hours. If your call is urgent, it will be treated as such. When Dr Low is with a patient, a message will be taken and your call returned.

Repeat Prescriptions

These are available at the discretion of the doctor. Requests can be made by phone or letter, or by visiting the surgery. It is helpful if we have at least 24 hours notice in which to deal with your request.

Note: There is a $5.00 fee for repeat prescriptions.

FEES

Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, cheque, Bankcard, Visa or EFTPOS. We accept Veteran’s Affairs cards. Please advise if it a WorkCover claim.

Consultation fees

Initial Consultation $85.00
(Medicare rebate $68.75)

Subsequent Consultation $55.00
(Medicare rebate $34.55)

Cortisone Injections $30.00

Surgery

If you require surgery, Dr Low is a GAP Doctor, which means that we will bill your Private Health Insurance and there is no GAP to pay.

You may need pay an excess to the hospital depending on your policy, contact your Health Insurance provider for this.

Following surgery you will be required to come back for a post-operative appointment (Aftercare). This is free of charge.

Once you are discharged from hospital, you will be given a script for pain relief. Attached to this is an appointment card indicating your post operative check up at Dr Low's. In the interests of your health, all post operative appointments are free of charge for 1 month.
